Minimum program eligibility is determined by the
location of your home relative to the noise contours on the FAA
approved Noise Exposure Map (NEM). The following requirements
determine if a particular residential dwelling meets the criteria
for program eligibility:
Property must be properly
zoned for residential use and must be currently used for residential
purposes.
The dwelling must be located within the DNL 65
dB noise contour as approved by the FAA on the 2003 NEM.
The residence must have been
built prior to October 1, 1998, in accordance with the FAAs
regulations.
The owner of the residential
dwelling must have legal proof that they currently own the residence.
The residential dwelling must
be free of building code violations or the presence of hazardous
materials, such as asbestos or lead paint.
Only habitable areas of participating
homes will be eligible for sound insulation.
