March 16, 2001:

On Monday March 19, 2001, Paul E.R. Packbier will participate in a Career Day at Untalan Middle School in Mangilao.

Well, our DSL Service got cut-off due to a lawsuit filed by several local ISPs against the Guam Telephone Authority. One month later, we have been able to secure the service again through reseller StarTec+DSL. The past month has been interesting with a fire at the Dededo Transfer Station, and leaking sewerlines in different areas of the island.

In addition to our new DSL connection, we have been upgrading our computer system with a new PowerMac G4 Cube (left) and iMac. We are currently evaluating updating our website.

January 24, 2001:

As of today PCR Environmental's offices have Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) access to the Internet. We have signed up with the controversial GuamTel.net service provided by the Guam Telephone Authority. Since our website is hosted by Digital Forest in Washington (State), viewers will not notice a difference. However, we do plan to start hosting the site on our own WebServer as soon as we can get a permanent IP Number from GuamTel.net.

January 16, 2001:

We have posted a working copy of the Guam International Airport Authority's FAR Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study website on our servers. The website is intended to provide information to the general public as well as to members of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) and the Community Action Team (CAT). Another CAT meeting is being planned for the end of this month and will be held in Dededo this time. Details to follow.

January 4, 2001:

The Guam EPA officially launched its new website today which contains information on each of the Agency's programs and divisions, an on-line Permit Guidebook, full text of environmental statutes and regulations, an archive of news releases, and a history of Guam EPA.

According to the Press Release sent out by Guam EPA Public Information Officer Grace O. Garces: "We recognize the fact that more people are using the Internet to get information. With our new web site, we hope to enhance awareness of our island's environmental issues and Guam EPA's role in addressing them."

PCR Environmental's staff and management would like to congratulate the Guam EPA in starting the new millennium with this valuable resource for the regulated community and public.
